Anaar

The piece

The rind of the pomegranate is rich in tannin and is a dye on its own. With alum it gives a warm old gold, and the printers of Bagru and Sanganer still use it. Anaar is that gold, with its four corners cut away. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
