Chunam
The piece
Chunam is the old Indian word for lime plaster, the kind rubbed with stone until it shines. Here it is a plain field of putty wool, and along one edge only, a cornice: acanthus over egg and dart over a line of beads, carved deep and left the colour of the wall. Shown as a rendering.
