Gaanth
The piece
Gaanth means a knot. Classical ornament loved a ribbon, tied round a wreath, looped under a medallion, knotted into a bow. Gaanth ties one round the whole rug like a gift, pale silk on chalk wool, so the bow only shows itself as the light moves. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
