Dhruva
The piece
Dhruva is the pole star, the one point in the night sky that stays still. The observatory finds it with a small sloping block whose top points straight at it, tilted at the latitude of Jaipur. This runner is cut on a slant and dyed from dusk grey to night indigo, with one silk line climbing to a gold star. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
