The piece
Jai Prakash is a pair of hollow hemispheres, their insides engraved with the lines of the heavens. Seen from above it is a star chart, and so is this rug: an indigo grid on undyed cream, with the outer band stepped like the walkways cut into the stone. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
