Malachite Medallion
The piece
A large lobed panel of deep malachite green fills the field, its stepped edges cutting into ivory corners. At the centre sits a round medallion in ivory and gold, built from rings of petals radiating outward. Every surface is covered in fine scrolling vines and small blossoms in gold, rust and cream, a dense Kashan-style layout. A wide mustard gold border sits between several narrow guard stripes in brown and ivory. Green and gold together give it a formal, saturated look. Suited to a formal drawing room or a large dining room with dark wood. Hand-knotted in Jaipur in hand-spun New Zealand wool with mulberry silk accents on a cotton warp, made to order in any size.
