Kirmiz Phool

The border does the work here: a deep wine red band, filled with gold rosettes and leafy palmettes, around an open ivory field. Inside, lotus palmettes in honey and olive face each other across the centre, and gold rosettes sit at the ends of thin, curling stems with plenty of cream ground between them. Taupe guard stripes soften the step from red to ivory. A good weight for a formal living room or a study with dark timber. Hand-knotted in Jaipur in hand-spun New Zealand wool with mulberry silk accents on a cotton warp, 6 to 10 months on the loom. Made to order in any size and colourway.
