Ghati
The piece
In the old Indian count of time, a day and a night held sixty ghatis, each twenty-four minutes long. Ghati is a field of saffron with a scale running along its foot, a few fine lines drawn like a diagram, and one corner taken away in a curve, the way a shadow takes a bite out of the light. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
