Apricot Medallion
The piece
A round rug. At its centre sits an eight-pointed medallion in coral and salmon, ringed by a fine ivory field of vines, small blossoms and leaves in olive and sage. Four deep indigo arches press in from the edge of the field, each filled with paisley scrolls. Beyond a rust and navy guard runs a wide apricot border of gold flowers. The circular layout gives every side the same view, so it works under a round dining table or in the middle of a foyer. Hand-knotted in Jaipur from hand-spun New Zealand wool with mulberry silk accents on a cotton warp, 6 to 14 knots per inch, made to order in any size and colourway.
