Lagoon Marigold
The piece
Marigold yellow flowers on a deep lagoon teal, framed in heather purple. That is an unusual pairing for a classical floral, and it is what this rug is about. Inside, flowering stems rise in columns from brown and gold lotus palmettes, with open space kept around each spray. The purple border is wide, carrying gold palmettes and curled leaves on a fine scrolling stem, with pale lilac guards on either side. The colours are strong enough to anchor a room with plain walls, a jewel-toned sofa or a bedroom with dark wood. Hand-knotted in Jaipur from hand-spun New Zealand wool and mulberry silk on a cotton warp, then made to order in any size and colourway.
