Tamarind Knot
The piece
Strapwork is the structure of this round rug. Broad brown bands interlace across a tamarind camel field, knotting into a quatrefoil of ogival loops around a central gold rosette, with yellow blossoms and serrated leaves in the spaces between. The black border ring carries a gold scrolling vine with open flowers, between narrow taupe guards. The colours are earthy and close: camel, cocoa, black and old gold. Suits a round table, a study or the space in front of a fireplace. Hand-knotted in Jaipur from hand-spun New Zealand wool with mulberry silk accents on a cotton warp, 6 to 14 knots per inch. Made to order in any size and colourway.
