Claret Roundel

The piece

An ivory roundel at the centre, a claret red ring around it. Inside, the design is mirrored on both axes: a small gold lotus medallion, four tall palmettes pointing to the edge, maroon pomegranate forms and scrolling stems in olive, gold and brown. The claret border is wide, packed with palmettes and curling leaves, and set between gold guard bands with a fine running vine. It sits well under a round table in a dining room, or in a foyer beneath a central light. Hand-knotted in Jaipur at 6 to 14 knots per inch, in hand-spun New Zealand wool with mulberry silk. Made to order in any size and colourway.
