Luni

The piece

The Luni is the great river of the Thar. For most of the year its bed lies dry; in the monsoon it runs, splitting into channels and joining again, and from Balotra on its water turns salty. Luni follows that bed: banks that wander, earth in rust and ochre, and channels of silver silk braided along its length. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
