Kohl Palmette
The piece
Kohl black with a plum undertone, crossed by long grey-green vines that loop into spirals. Along them sit apricot and coral palmettes, ivory blossoms, and curled leaves in sea green and teal, with three large palmettes stacked on the centre line. An orange guard stripe frames the field, then a sand border of rosettes and scrolling stems, then an outer band of black and gold in a cloud-like wave. It suits a library, a dining room with dark walls or a hallway that needs one rich object. Hand-knotted in Jaipur at 6 to 14 knots per inch, in hand-spun New Zealand wool with mulberry silk. Made to order in any size and colourway.
