Chaupar

The piece

Chaupar and pachisi are played on a cross: four arms of three rows of eight squares around a home square. At Fatehpur Sikri, in the courtyard before the Panch Mahal, the cross is laid into the red sandstone paving itself. Chaupar is that board in wool, red sandstone and cream, a few squares carved with a cross, the home square left plain. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
