Khet

The piece

Khet simply means field. After the harvest and before the next sowing, ploughed land shows its furrows, and every plot runs its own way. Khet carves them so: twelve plots in clay, cinnamon, ochre and chocolate, each furrowed in a different direction, so that the rug changes as you walk around it. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
