Nahar

The piece

The Indira Gandhi Canal carries water from Punjab deep into the Thar. From above it is one straight line through rippled sand, and wherever it runs, fields follow. Nahar is that line in deep green silk, the plots crowding its banks and thinning out into the desert. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
