Gulabi

The piece

Gulabi means pink. Jaipur's old city was painted pink for the Prince of Wales's visit in 1876 and has stayed pink. Gulabi is a ceiling plan in that colour: an oval rosette of palmettes, fans in the four corners, chains of husks between them, and a border of key in indigo. Shown as a rendering. Woven to order in Jaipur.
